A Reminder from Above

A Day that almost didn’t happen.

The fact of life is that at one point everyone will die. Perhaps an overly talked about subject, death is imminent. Death is not scary, at least to me, and at least to others who have come to terms with the idea of impending finality. Death, although not to be feared, should not be sought out. Death is just the beginning of a new adventure.

Red Lights

Since I am going to be a Senior this coming year, I have scheduled my road test in August. I took my permit test last year, so I know how the roads work (at least, in a perfect world). For example, when two cars reach an intersection at the same time, the person on the left has the right of way. Green lights mean “go”, yellow lights mean “slow down” (or speed up…but no one admits that), and red lights mean “stop”.

Yesterday, I was in the car with my mom, and the road we were on had an unusual number of traffic lights, all of which were red at this moment. I laughed and said, “Life whenever I try to do something”. She laughed and was like “Aw no!”

Later, I was with my dad in the car, and I told him the little anecdote, and he said, “Well, sometimes you have to take a detour.” He paused. “Or go through it.”

What he said is so true. I thought it was so cool and wise, so I wanted to share it with you! Don’t let this be taken as an invitation to run red lights because that would be completely ludicrous!

Thanks for reading!
